Reach Truck
In order to keep storage areas orderly and to stock up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck can be utilized. The reach truck comes in quite a few types: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The most basic kind is the stand-up. The forks of the truck slide under the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
The double-deep reach truck is similar to the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This model consists of telescopic forks intended to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet must go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not just slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in multiple directions. This particular version is ideal in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Often more than one kind of reach truck is required within warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and could increase production while maximizing available storage space.
