Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various kinds of sources which can power forklifts. They could run using gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for numerous applications. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should truly be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for example: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
