Lift trucks are essential pieces of equipment utilized commonly in business, particularly within distribution centers, warehouses, storage handling and industrial plants. A forklift truck is made of hundreds of components, such as the cab, the carriage, the power source, the engine and the wheels. Lift trucks usually have a range of attachments as well. The following are several of the most essential forklift components.
Forklift Engine - At the back of the equipment, the lift truck has its power source. The various kinds of engine on the forklift would need varying power sources. For instance, a forklift with an IC engine can have any of the following as its source of power: LP gas, CNG gas, diesel or gasoline. Electric motor forklifts receive their power from fuel cells or a battery.
Truck Frame - the base of the forklift truck and the most vital of all the forklift parts is the frame of the truck. This forms the machine's core. All other forklift parts are connected to the base, like the axles, mast, wheels overhead guard and counterweight. Fuel and hydraulic fluid tanks can be part of the frame assembly too.
Counterweight Lift Truck Parts - While lifting heavy cargo, the counterweight allows the machinery to be balanced. This specific part is cast iron and comes attached to the rear of the forklift. The counterbalance balances the frame of the truck so as to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being carried or lifted on the front. The heavy lead-acid battery in an electric lift truck gives balance and could function as part of the counterweight.
The Cab Area - The cab is also known as the operator compartment. Forklifts will sometimes have closed cabs whilst others will be open to the air. There are numerous parts located in the cab for operating the forks. The cab has such important parts like the levers, switches, operator controls, steering wheel, seats and pedals. The dashboard contains operator readouts.
