How to Charge a Scissor Lift
Numerous individuals appreciate the ease of using a scissor lift. The ease of working and the safety offered from the lift's basket offer much more piece of mind than attempting to perform a similar job working off the rung of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this equipment make it the best choice for carrying tasks from heights.
Nearly all scissor lifts are operated by batteries that are internally mounted inside the base of the lift. These batteries need to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple job to charge the batteries. This could be done without any particular equipment or tools and requires no heavy labor.
The equipment has to be positioned next to an electrical output so as to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging area must also be in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the big red button situated in the basket of the lift, near the control box or the charger. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Normally, older units will have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.
Next, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be sure you are charging in an area which is well ventilated and afterward plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. In order to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place when in use, extreme danger could potentially occur.
