Narrow aisle forklifts
Frequently used within warehouse applications is the Narrow Aisle Forklift. These forklifts are essential tools within the business as their small size and extreme maneuverability enable warehouses to maximize storing space. They can easily pass aisles as narrow as 1.8 meters wide, whereas standard lift trucks need at least 3.4 meters of aisle width.
The two kinds are "narrow aisle forklift" and the "very narrow aisle forklift". The first need 2.4 meters - 3 meters in aisle width, whereas the latter could function in a 1.8 meters wide space.
The narrow aisle forklift design features forks that are positioned at right angles to the body of the truck. The trucks do not need to face the shelves, but instead drive straight down the aisle picking up loads to the side. This particular design feature is the key to their suitability for tight spaces.
To make certain that the forklift is moving in a straight line down the aisle, some very narrow aisle forklifts consist of wire or optical systems. That way, the operator can focus more on the picking and the placement of loads.
The cushion tires that come with these kinds of lifts are made of solid rubber. The hard tires perform well on paved, smooth surfaces and concrete floors. Narrow aisle forklifts have electric motors that is best utilized within indoor environments. Propane-powered models are available also.
