Aisle Types
Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machines are able to turn in an aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are several aisle widths to take into consideration with different models.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks can work in less than 6 feet places, while some would use specific guidance systems like wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks comprise Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks can operate within aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Normally these are stand-up units like for example Reach Trucks. They are often used within warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is designed to lessen operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is big and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest along with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and hence more effective while limiting fatigue.
