Operator Environment
Operators have an efficient and safe place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive study into the operators working conditions. The most important objective is to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is extremely comfortable and gently rounded. This specific area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, in order to keep the operator working as effectively as she or he could.
Noise levels and vibration controls are kept low due to the insulated mounting on the chassis. In order to maintain an optimal working position, the hydraulic controls and operator seat are all independently adjustable. Additionally, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 ergonomically positioned multi-functioned and easy to operate levers that are offered for the window washers, horn, windscreen wipers and gear changing.
To ensure a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air which is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machine has a robust 3-speed fan for defrosting, recirculation, cooling and heating. As an extra option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all accessible. The standard instruments which include: low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. In addition, gauges display values for gearbox oil pressure, engine coolant, operating time and fuel quantity.
The ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring is one of the main options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These models make it easier to supervise the machine. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors which take place and their current values.
