Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they transport loads. The Rider model however, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to move unstable or tall loads utilizing these machinery. A rider can be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap method for moving cargo from one location to another. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specially designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles that can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are really useful pieces of machinery in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
