In order to be a successful unit, a forklift needs to be strong enough to last in all working environments for many hours of use. It must be able to transport loads quickly and efficiently too. The machine needs to be both ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator too.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain needs the power to continually offer great strength through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with robust gears and really tough shafts. The drive, steer axle, engine and transmission are all isolated to reduce vibration and noise inside the compartment of the operator.
GM & Mazda LP & Gas Engines:
The GM Gas and Mazda LP Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These equipment offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that needs minimum adjustment or repair. These kinds of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that minimize wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to improved torque. Incredible fuel consumption is offered by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on nearly all equipment. It features gears which are 15 percent stronger and shafts which provide resistance when driving on rough environment. The strong clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is available electronic inching which automatically adjusts so as to reduce maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission uses computer-controlled power reversal to increase durability, extend the life of the tires and to eliminate shock loading. Furthermore, the auto deceleration feature reduces brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
Designed for extra strength, the drive axle features its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This particular component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are completely sealed against contamination and basically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to protect the steer cylinder from debris and damage. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Also, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made lots of ergonomic features and safety features part of their regular packages. These types of machines would handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the length of their shift.
